Elliott Friedman, CPA, JD
Partner
Elliott co-founded Friedman+Huey Associates in 1985. Prior to founding the firm, Elliott spent 13 years at Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young), working in their individual, fiduciary, estate and gift tax group, as well as their expatriate tax practice. Elliott led the firm for three decades as the Managing Partner guiding the overall direction of the firm and providing opportunities for all in his wake.
Elliott is a member of the AICPA, IL CPA Society, and the Chicago Estate Planning Council (CEPC). A credit to the profession, he received the prestigious Austin Fleming award for his accomplishments in the estate planning area. In his free time, Elliott has served as an adjunct associate professor at the DePaul Master of Taxation program and at the IIT-Chicago Kent Law school. He has been a frequent speaker for the AICPA, IL CPA Society, and the CEPC on various topics.
For many years, you would have found Elliott at his childhood summer home, Camp Ojibwa, first as a camper, then as a counselor, and ultimately as an owner. He loves to blow off steam by laughing along with sit-coms and is truly a theatre buff; he can sing just about every song from any Broadway Musical from 1945 to 1990. Elliott is still waiting for the Starship Enterprise to beam him up from one of the annual Star Trek conventions he attends.
